Who am I? / Ko wai au?
Kia ora, my name is Christel. My passion is to see wāhine find a sense of peace within themselves and have agency over their hauora. As we each commit to healing ourselves we start to create ripples out to our community, whānau, and environment, lifting the hauora of our whole community and environment.
Ko wai au?
Ko Ruapehu te maunga.
Ko Whanganui te awa.
Ko Nga Toki matawhaorua te tupuna waka. Kia wehe te waka no Papeete.
Ko Christel toku ingoa no Papeete me Kōtarania ahau.
Kei te noho au ki Te Awahou.
My grandmothers on my Scottish side were healers, working as reflexologists and massage therapists to support the bodies healing. My grandmother on my Cook island Māori side had spiritual depth and awareness and lived and breathed a life of service in every community she was a part of.
My healing journey has taken me full circle to recognise the knowledge and gifts of my grandmothers in myself and to understand the way in which I can hold space for others to also find healing. An approach that acknowledges the whole person, their whakapapa, and the community around them.
Through my knowledge of the impact of stress and trauma on the body and the brain, I am able to create an environment and offer services that support an individual to find a sense of safety in their mind and body.
I am currently working with body therapy modalities, weaving together Holistic Massage, Myofascial release, and will be incorporating elements of Biodynamic Cranio Sacral Therapy as i work through my diploma in Biodynamic craniosacral therapy. I am also working towards completion of my Graduate Diploma in Psychology.
I look forward to connecting with you and learning more about your story 🤍
