Holistic Massage: Holistic Massage is a comprehensive and integrative therapeutic approach that emphasises the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit. It considers the individual as a whole and goes beyond physical manipulation to address the client's emotional, mental, and energetic aspects. This understanding forms the foundation for effective treatment, enhancing relaxation, reducing stress, and supporting overall well-being.

Myofascial release: a hands-on treatment technique designed to alleviate pain and restore movement by targeting the fascia—the connective tissue surrounding muscles and joints. This therapy involves applying gentle, sustained pressure to areas of tightness or restriction in the fascia to release tension, improve blood flow, and restore flexibility. It can be particularly effective for individuals with chronic pain conditions, muscle stiffness, and injuries. By addressing the underlying fascial restrictions, myofascial release helps to enhance the range of motion, reduce pain, and promote overall healing, making it a popular choice for physical therapists and pain management specialists.

Fascial Unwinding: is nine distinctive contacts on the body used to unwind the body’s patterns of compensation, trauma and stress. This systematic yet intuitive approach encourages structural realignment, promotes enhanced systems functioning and facilitates improved communication and body awareness.

Biodynamic Cranio Sacral Therapy: is a gentle, hands-on therapy that focuses on the body's inherent ability to heal, using a light touch to facilitate the release of tension and trauma, and promote a sense of well-being and wholeness. BCST aims to support the inherent health of the whole being, especially the nervous system, by facilitating the release of tension, trauma, and patterns of holding in the tissues. BCST can help individuals feel more embodied, safe, comfortable, and present in their bodies, and can support the resolution of physical and emotional issues. BCST is a gentle, non-invasive, and non-manipulative approach, where the client remains fully clothed and the practitioner's touch is light and still.

I work with the nervous system through the weaving together of gentle body therapy modalities to facilitate a sense of safety in the mind and body, trusting the individual's innate ability to find healing on a deeper level. I work with the body through a holistic lense to support the processing and release of stored trauma and emotion. This can bring healing and relief not only to the tinana, but the hinengaro, and the wairua.

I weave together elements of Holistic Massage, Myofacial release, Myofacial unwinding, and Biodynamic craniosacral Therapy. This multi modality approach to body therapy enables each session to be tailored to the needs of the individual. This approach could be suited to those feeling overwhelmed, burnout, weary, and or carrying the physical, mental and emotional effects of trauma.

My approach

My approach believes that the body is not broken but that it is a living, breathing, wild, intelligent being. As we slow down and pay attention to the signs our body is giving us we can begin to understand what it is we need.

I work with individuals through the lense of Te Whare Tapa Wha, acknowledging the interconnectedness between what represents physically in the body and the challenges of the mind, the unseen and intergenerational healing of the wairua, and connection to the whenua and whānau. This work acknowledges the importance of our whakapapa in understanding our hauora journey and believes that in committing to healing ourselves we are lifting the level on which our tamariki and mokopuna can continue to build.

The nature of the system we live in and the lives we lead often throw off the balance in our brain and bodies leaving us in a state of overwhelm and burnout. This prolonged and heightened state of stress can increase inflammation in the body and impact our clarity of thought and decision making.

Through my knowledge of the impact of stress and trauma on the body and the brain, I facilitate moments for you to press pause and rebalance your nervous system. Through body therapy modalities I support the stored memory of the body trusting that the body can find it’s way to wellness once the nervous system can access stillness.
